# Message a colleague

1. Open Team: ⌘4, the Team tab, or `/team`.
2. Choose the person. The conversation opens in the column.
3. Write the message and send it. The message waits for them. Nothing rings.

To start a group, press **New group…** and choose up to twelve people. The group's name is the names of its people.

To message everyone at once, use **Everyone**, pinned at the top of Groups.

To talk about a project or a lead, do not use Team. Open the subject in Work. Its **Talk** is the one conversation on that subject.

Unread messages show on Home's MESSAGES, the Team badge, and the Mac's Team button.
